Date and Invitations sorted!

Having had nearly a year away from the world of wedding planning, FI and I have finally managed to book the date for our wedding!

We are both booked, as well as our first set of guests: my parents and sister, FI's mum and Stepdad, my oldest school friend and her partner, my bridesmaid and FI's best man.

Here are my home made invitations: can't wait to get them all sent out officially... It's a bit weird sending out invites *after* some people have booked, but I guess that's one of the skewed traditions when it comes to Destination Weddings.

Anyway, here they are:

Boarding Pass invite booklet
Boarding pass interior.
Invitations.

Invitation booklet and Bridesmaid book.
Our cat decided to get in on the action too!

Ceremony Fans and watch this space!

Here are my ceremony program fans. They don't really look up to much yet as their just computer copies, however when printed on sparkly ivory card-stock (with turquoise and purple pages in between each) I'm sure they'll look a whole lot nicer!

Also, I have just placed an order for a load more resources for my DIY projects. Hopefully I'll be able to create much better barefoot sandals, charm bracelet favours for mine and FI's mums and my two bridesmaids, wine glass charms, and the metal lettering for the different hangers that I want to make (similar to below)

Artsy Cherry Wood Bridal Wedding Dress Hanger Personalized with BRIDE and Wedding Date....Embellished with Beads

I'm aiming to get these last projects finished before I start back at school and so will hopefully be able to post photos soon!!

The sandal evolution

I have moved on to my third pair of barefoot sandals and seem to be learning more and more each time, so much so that looking at my initial pair makes me want to take them apart and redo them! I'm also looking into investing in a vaster array of beads in order to improve them still further. I'm finding that I really enjoy creating them, especially seeing such progress each time. Here are my latest [half] pair:

DIY Wedding favours

Today saw the creation of my second (and considerably improved!) pair of barefoot sandals. These I will be making for and giving to MOB, MOG and my two bridesmaids, as well as being worn by myself during the ceremony. I am also considering having these in my OOT bags for the remaining female guests (as we are only having another 2 directly... most of my friends are male! Which is why I am having a man of honour/best man).

These are the pair I made today for my mum, in green (because it's her favourite colour) and purple (to match the wedding, and because the two go really nicely together) No mean feat when you have an attention seeking kitten wanting to play and thinking these are his new toy. FI had to get one of his actual toys and distract him at the other side of the living room!

More DIY!!

Rather than bouquets my bridesmaids will be having parasols, as did this bride:

I ordered them in purple and was really pleased when they arrived, they're great quality, a lot cheaper than bouquets, a bit more original and will help keep the sun off my lovely ladies.

I also fell in love with wedding photographs like this, and so, as you can see, I also purchased one in ivory for myself...

They all arrived a couple of weeks ago, and I had decided that I wanted to try and imitate one that I had seen on Ebay for £50 that had writing on it. Today I finally got round to decorating my parasol and considering the massive savings, I'm really pleased with it!

Today's finds!

Well, following a horrendous trip to the dentist I made the most of being out of the house and scoured the local charity shops and a couple of new pound shops. I was rewarded with a myriad of 3D letters, which I had been looking for for the head table for ages. These still had their £12 labels on them; however cost me a mere £2 each!

They desperately need recovering but I'm hoping that I can rope either mine or FI's mums into giving me a helping hand, using the vintage material I've been picking up recently at 50p a go!

I also picked up a pirate hat for £1.50, to be used alongside the photo-booth and a purple pillowcase, to be used as scrap material, for 60p.

I also picked up these nicely shaped glasses for 50p each the other day and wasn't sure what to do with them, I since decided that I could use them for the sand in the sand ceremony and have initialised them. They need a bit of work but the basis is definitely there.

That's all for now, hopefully more bargains will be stumbled across soon!!
